Catch up with Kilo Kish and that wild hair of hers…

illy Lussiano (iL): Now that more and more people are putting a face with the name… are you anticipating a lot of love from the world of natural hair? 

Kilo Kish (KK):I’m happy that people like my music and my hair, That would be awesome!

(iL): Has your hair always been natural? 

(KK): For the most part yes, I had a relaxer for 2 years or so in high school. I grew up in florida so the humidity was too much while I was wearing my hair straight.

(iL): One hair style you wish you didnt have to see anymore?

(KK): Hair cuts with crazy designs 

(iL): Are there any hair products you can’t live without? 

(KK): I really love GEORGIA Gold cream, its for skin but I like to put it in my hair when its feeling dry. Right now I’m using “One Condition” by Deva Curl conditioner. I like kinky curly “knot today” leave in conditioner, recommended by illy herself. I love bio-silk serum or Moroccan oil when I straighten my hair. Never can forget good old infusium 23! 

(iL):Ever tasted a hair product because it smelled so good?

(KK): Not exactly. but you do get tempted with the all natural products! 

(iL): What’s your favorite part about getting your hair done? 

(KK): I really like getting my hair shampooed the most. Feels super clean after a trip to the salon!



(iL):Weirdest hair request/comment? 

(KK): I don’t know if I’ve had any weird requests but sometimes strangers poke at my hair When I’m out. Who does that!? 

(iL):Any salon horror stories? 

(KK): When I used to work at Georgia salon I was the “hair test” for new stylists, and some people did NOT make the cut if you catch my drift… 

(iL): Favorite thing about your hair?

(KK): I like that it kind of does whatever it wants, its not too curly and not to straight 

(iL):Least favorite hair style as a kid? 

(KK): My least favorite style as a kid were dinosaur braids straight to the back! Like 8 braids! Although, as an adult I sometimes revisit this style for a couple days a year. 

(iL):Any last words to ladies attempting to get hair like your? 

(KK): You’ve got to let your hair do what it wants! Enjoy your hair whatever the texture and don’t worry about what others think. Keep it clean and keep it moisturized! Also don’t feel like you have to be boxed into one style. I like to alternate between curly and straight.
